Scrimshaw Necklace

Scrimshaw refers to engravings and carvings done in bone or ivory. Typically, it refers to the handiwork created by whalers beginning around 1745 and lasting until the commercial ban on whaling.  While this is “faux” scrimshaw (we love whales), it is not too girly and really fun for either a man or woman to wear.  Made with brass, copper, and sterling rivets, this mixed metal necklace is 36 inches long.
