A little wartime history, made to wear.

In 1943, with copper needed for the war effort, the U.S. Mint produced Lincoln pennies from zinc-coated steel instead. Struck for just that one year, these distinctive silver-colored cents became known by several names, including Steel Pennies, Wartime Cents, and Steelies.

Whatever you call them, we take six authentic 1943 Steel pennies and give them a new life as wearable American history. Each bracelet alternates the obverse and reverse sides of the coins, showing both Lincoln and the classic Wheat penny design as you move around the wrist.

The cool silver-gray coins and coordinating metal links give this bracelet a wonderfully industrial character that’s unlike anything else in our coin collection.

Because these are genuine circulated coins, patina, color, surface markings, and natural wear will vary. That’s part of their history—and part of what makes every bracelet unique.
